'Ol' Bongo Cart' was produced by Dirty Dubsters and recorded in their Dublin studio with members of Ska band The Bionic Rats on keys & Guitar. The video was shot in Dublin by Dan Taliras who also offers a bass heavy re- mix on the five track E.P.
London based reggae artist Dark Angel aka Mowty Mahlyka linked up with the production duo and brought the one drop original roots riddim to life with his distinctive vocal, responsible for the catchy hook laden lyrics. One listen will have the most discerning listener singing "I love reggae music" over again as they become drawn to its infectious summer vibe. Having toured extensively since 2007 as a solo artist, Dark Angel has lent his vocals to numerous tracks & producers, most notably the 2011 hit 'Where The Angels Sleep' a collaboration with hip hop artist Styles P of 'The Lox' fame.
Staying true to the cross genre style Dirty Dubsters have become so well recognised for, the E.P also brings remixes from the powerhouse Original Junglist, U.K based D.J Kenny Ken providing in his signature style while Swedish producer Red Astaire keep's it strictly reggae with each version blending seamlessly into the next. Today, firmly established as prominent D.J's & reggae producers, Barry O Brien & Jason Rymer began producing and performing under the moniker Dirty Dubsters in 2009.
